Katie, this post showed up in my feed, and I’m very thankful it did. Reading it has strengthened my faith in healing and given me the courage to write this comment. I hope it’s okay to put a request for healing prayer here. Would you, and anyone else who comes across this comment, pray for healing for a 12-year-old boy named Drew? He’s my son’s friend, and we’ve become close with his family. He had his first Ependymoma brain tumor at age 6 1/2, and he now has his fifth tumor (fourth recurrence). It’s right by his brain stem, basically where the others have been. They’ve made the decision to not do surgery this time, which is the only proven medical treatment for Ependymomas. They believe that, at this point, the risks of surgery outweigh the benefits. So, this is it. He needs a miracle. Please pray for his healing. Thank you.

Heavenly Father, we lift up Drew asking that Your healing power go forth in his body from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. Strengthen his parents and family during this time and surround them with Your peace. Give the doctors wisdom regarding his care. We ask that You move mightily on His behalf and do what only You can do. Strengthen the faith of those around Him and those praying for Him. We are asking for a miracle. Hear the prayers of Your people. We trust Your plan. In Jesus name. Amen!

Katie- I pray that the Lord would protect you as you write and speak so boldly! Yes- there are forces that simply do not want us to talk about this. Thank you!

He IS a healer! And can and will often heal. And— sometimes. . .some might say many times. . .He doesn’t choose to heal us. Both are true. So very true and both are so important for Christians to understand.

It’s not for us to know why. . .but it is for us to not lose sight of the first possible outcome- that when we pray, He may in fact respond with a “yes.” He is so good.

God Still Heals

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." — James 5:14–15

God’s Word doesn’t hedge: He can and does heal—not always how or when we want, but often in ways that leave no doubt it was Him. Even when some walk away from stories of healing, we testify anyway because our God is alive, powerful, and merciful.

Don’t let fear of rejection keep you from glorifying the One who saves and restores.

The Scriptures tell us that we are Christ’s Ambassadors. Not everyone likes the country we come from, and that is OK.

Hi Katie! Thank you so much for the longest article I’ve ever imagined reading on Substack. 😂♥️ I say that with humor and brotherly love!!! I read it from beginning to end. And I am inspired and blessed by your candor and boldness in sharing the gospel and these stories so passionately. God bless you for all of it.

I’ve shared on Substack that I live with type 1 diabetes. It’s been more than 50 years. God has healed me from Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration and Cornea Erosion and more through lifestyle changes. Psalm 103:5 KJV

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Many years ago, I had a near lethal, allergic reaction to shrimp I ate. Instead of taking me to the hospital, my father took me to church. Laid me down on the floor. Got on his knees, and prayed for me until God healed me from that sickness. Amen!

I remember the night my mother came into my room. I believe it may have been the day I came home from the hospital, after being diagnosed with diabetes. She told me to pray every night [before bed] that God would heal me. Well, I did the best I could. Some nights I was too sick to pray. However, I still pray to this day that God would heal me. I have no doubt in my mind that He will. As one of your readers mentioned, sometimes He heals and other times He doesn’t [on this side of heaven].

However, I have reason to believe that He will heal me while I’m living. So, I’m asking you and your husband and anyone else reading this post that has faith to believe God will do exceeding, abundantly above all we can ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, to join me and my church family in praying for my healing, as well as my church family’s healings. This doesn’t have to be anything public. God rewards what’s done in secret, publicly. So, as you all pray in your secret closets and/or unite in corporate prayers where you meet up, please remember me and my church family in your prayers. Thank you! 🙏🏾

And, by the way, when I start doing a podcast or going Live, I’d love to have you and your husband as guests. I’m sure we’d have a lot to talk about. And please, bring your sense of humor. 😂 I love to laugh. 😂 It’s good medicine! 😁

Hi there! :) Thank you so much for your kind words and sticking around to read the whole article LOL. It's definitely one of my longest ones!

Wow praise the Lord He has healed you of so many things! And oh my goodness your father was so hardcore LOL. The faith he had! Haha I wonder what your mother had to say about him taking you to church instead of a hospital!

And we will definitely be praying for you in the secret place. I know the Lord hears all of our prayers. He does not turn away.

And yes whenever you get that podcast going or go Live, we'd love to be featured! :) Haha laughing is my favorite! Thank you for thinking of us :)

I was in a car accident 2 days before my second baby would hit 38 weeks.

It was really bad, but my toddler and I were okay.

I went to the hospital to get baby checked though and his heart kept dipping. They really wanted to c section him but the Lord told me he wouldn’t be born that day, BUT to prepare for him to be born that week. We had a whole team praying for him and after 9 hours he finally stabilized and I was able to go home.

I could barely walk though. I was in so much pain from the impact, my pelvis felt like it was going to break in half and I had huge bruises across my belly and on my legs.

I went home and remember saying “Lord if he’s coming this week would You heal my body? That’s going to be really painful otherwise”

I could barely get up from my bed in the middle of the night WITH my husband lifting me. It was terrible.

Our friends came over a day later to prepare our home for the baby, make meals and just help us get us all set up since I wasn’t able to. Then they all prayed for me and baby before leaving.

That night I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and noticed halfway through that I didn’t need to wake up my husband to get there. So, when I was done I got up to test my body and realized I not only felt fine, but I felt AMAZING.

Excited, I waddled to go tell my husband and then my water broke and my baby was born 8 hours later 😍

God answered my prayer and supernaturally healed my body just in time to give birth. It was a sweet and peaceful birth and baby was born healthy and strong on his 38th week exactly.

It was sooooo humbling.

I’m not even halfway through reading, and I’m already deeply encouraged! Jesus is still a HEALER. But more than just seeing Him as a healer, He wants us to know that He is a God who faithfully fights all our battles, even in the midst of suffering.

It’s time to do some serious damage to the kingdom of darkness through our testimonies!

Sickness is something that almost all of us struggle with at some point in our life.

Yet we have so many traditions and philosophies that want to take us away from God's healing grace. For the enemy knows that sickness can derail us from the purpose God has for our lives.

But God is a good God and his mercy endures forever. Through our Lord Jesus, God has provided healing for every sickness. I know this personally. In 2020, I was healed from an incurable condition called ulcerative colitis.

Since then, I’ve witnessed time and again how healing flows when the people of God receive His love and grace with undoubting hearts.

God has not changed. His heart of compassion is the same for healing us today, as it was when Jesus healed ALL who came to Him.

He's good. He wants us well.

Amen!! So well said. And praise the Lord for the healing He has done in your life. Your comment reminds me of when Dan Mohler talked about how he was healed of a severe meniscus tear that would require surgery and a 6 month recovery in a moment. He ran up and down the stairs with faith believing that he would be healed, only to find himself in gripping pain, and then he laid on the couch and said out loud that he believed that Jesus loved him and only then was his meniscus tear healed. Praise God! And thank you for reading and sharing!

Thank you for your writing. I struggle to ask God for anything because as DC Talk says: “….even though I don’t deserve it all.” The essence of God’s love is mercy because we are all such failures. To learn to rejoice in the good fortune of others is essential but so very tricky. So much, everything, actually, is beyond our control except for our attitudes, of which we are not always aware. I thank God for any crumbs that fall from His table. Blessings to you all.

What a beautiful article. Jesus is the greatest healer - I say that after spending years immersed in the new age where ‘healings’ were commonplace, nothing compares to the Lord. When Jesus first pursued me, I was healed of mental illness and suicidal ideation almost overnight. Then when I started reading the Bible the font was so small I needed to wear my glasses or I’d get a headache, somewhere amongst those days of drinking in the word of God my eyes were healed and I haven’t needed my glasses since. It felt like a small thing but God just restoring my vision, taking the scales from my eyes as I fell in love with Him

Wow Hannah, everything about this comment is incredible! Praise Jesus for how He has healed you and delivered you. I also come from the world of New Age practices and it is indeed such a darker more deceptive place that only leads to more bondage. May God be glorified in your beautiful testimony.
